JHOP Boston: July 28, 2006 Update from Lou Engle Since those 40 days of prayer at Harvard, a team of intercessors, led by Bethany Yeo, has been fasting, leading prayer and laboring for Boston, Harvard, and the universities of America. They have been covering Harvard and the city in prayer at least three times a day. In the fall the team will begin hosting Friday night corporate worship and intercession gatherings. Though they are still in preparatory stages, soon they will officially launch JHOP in Boston and partner with full-time intercessors in the city and around the nation.

40 Days Boston: Day 40 Sacred Assembly April 9, 2006
Close to 5000 Christians from all walks of life came to Franklin Field in Boston to celebrate a Sacred Assembly and to conclude 40 days of fasting and prayer. Repentance and reconciliation were the core themes.
Adrienne Samuels from the Boston Globe writes: The believers, many pounds lighter from their Lenten fasting, prayed in Spanish, Native American languages, English, and Cape Verdean Creole. A brisk wind picked up their chorus of prayers, pushing the words from the Franklin Field gathering place. It drifted across Blue Hill and Talbot avenues -- loud enough to stop basketball games and cause a small traffic jam as drivers rubbernecked to see why so many people of different hues had gathered.

Cambridge MA (April 6, 2006) Eddie James and his band "ColourBlind" were back for the final evening of JHOP at First Baptist church in Cambridge. "What is the only possible response if God grants us ALL that we have prayed for during these 40 days of fasting and prayer?" Eddie asked and gave the response: "Absolute ridiculous, totally ludicrous, crazy praise!" and the church exploded with worship. Starting today JHOP will meet for 'Rumble University' in Tremont Temple Boston for the final days of the 40 day campaign ending Sunday, April 9. [COMMENTS]

Earlier tonight as the worship group played a modern version of 'Amazing Grace' a special anointment came down from heaven, according to Engle. Reminded of the words from Derek Prince ("do not waste the anointing") Lou stepped up and called forth prayer to make the breakthrough of light onto Boston manifest. "April 2, 2006 is a historic day. Today is when the harvest was released." declared Engle "Today a breakthrough occurred in the spiritual realm."

Cambridge MA (March 30, 2006) The amazing worship at JHOP Boston reached new heights yesterday as Eddie James and his group 'ColourBlind' from Decatur, AL ministered to the crowd. Eddie says: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, I am just ashamed of how we give it." Eddie desires to be relevant to the young generation. He uses worship to address real issues in a lost, hurting, and broken society. According to Eddie: "The world is lost for answers and the church is lost for how to use the answer they have".

Cambridge MA (March 28, 2006) Wendy Andrews and Melissa from 24-7 Prayer USA in Kansas City were the key speakers yesterday night. 24-7 Prayer started by accident in September 1999, with a bunch of young people in England who got the idea of trying to pray non-stop for a month. God turned up and they couldn't stop til Christmas! From there the prayer meeting has spread into many nations, denominations and age-groups.

Jeff Deyo with his worship group from Nashville TN kicked off the second half of the 40 days of prayer and fasting at First Baptist church in Cambridge. It is hard to describe the level of intensity that the worshippers at JHOP engage in. One almost expects the door of the church to open and to let in streams of passersby strolling through Cambridge Central Square for a different reason but unable to resist the call of the music pouring out from this house of worship.

Cambridge MA (March 16, 2006) Rolland Baker (Heidi Baker's husband) spoke at First Baptist last night. Rolland and Heidi have a ministry in Mozambique (Iris Ministries).
They have seen God work miraculously at their churches and children's
centers there. They have an incredible gift to love orphans and to pray
