- Greater Boston Church Planting Collaborative:
Applying historic Methodist missiology in postmodern Greater Boston
| Date: | Friday, 26th of January | | Time: | 09:30 - 12:00 | | Location: | EGC 2 San Juan, Boston | Ralph Kee writes: The historic successes and insights of Methodist church planting over the years hold lessons for those of us engaged in church planting today in Greater Boston.
Curtis Brown is the Director of the Office of Congregational Development for the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church, headquartered in Lawrence MA. I attended a workshop Curtis recently led, and felt he has a lot to offer church planters working in the Greater Boston area, whatever their denomination might be. Curtis' insights into postmodernism I found most helpful for church planters, and he feels the historic Methodist model of evangelism, discipleship and church planting has much to offer Boston and New England.
The Gathering is Friday morning (Note: FRIDAY morning), Jan. 26, 9:30 - 12:00 at the Emmanuel Gospel Center, 2 San Juan St. (around the corner from 379 Shawmut Ave.), Boston. Free. RSVP if you plan to attend is helpful but not essential. Plan to stay for lunch together at a nearby restaurant if you wish. Questions? E-mail me or phone me at 617-262-3363. Hope you can participate and bring likeminded colleagues with you.
And God bless your church planting endeavors "big time" in 2007.
