• Family Research Council: Boston to host national "Religious Freedom" simulcast
The expansion of non-discrimination laws to include homosexuality inevitably constricts our right to express and act on our religious beliefs. Recently, there has been a string of incidents involving government intolerance against those who live out their faith in the public square. To respond to this growing threat, Family Research Council (FRC) has announced that on October 15, 2006, they will host a nationwide simulcast from Boston, Massachusetts called "Liberty Sunday: Defending Our First Freedom."

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." So begins the Bill of Rights with the first amendment to our Constitution--one that guarantees a God-given freedom. For over 200 years the light of the church has illuminated this freedom, but now a radical agenda seeks to extinguish that flame.

Please help FRC and MFI in making sure this event is successful in having a powerful impact upon our state and our nation. FRC's past simulcasts have drawn millions of viewers and this one will be aired to a potential viewing audience of 80 million people. The location for this historic event is Tremont Temple in Boston. We are asking you to help us fill all 2000 seats with vibrant people of faith.

For security purposes this will be a no-charge, ticketed event. Protestors may try to disrupt this service; thus FRC is distributing tickets only through pastors. FRC will provide all promotional materials to you-posters, fliers, a template for printing church bulletin inserts, and tickets.

We need your church to be part of this event. We solicit your participation and your prayers. There will be a special on-site prayer at Tremont elsewhere in the building while the main service is underway in the sanctuary. If you have a prayer team that would like to be part of the prayer effort, please tell the operator when you call for tickets. An FRC prayer coordinator will be in touch with you or your designee. You can monitor the announcement of guest speakers and special segments and get other details at www.libertysunday.org.

We invite you to join us as we examine the cultural and legal influences that threaten to erode religious liberties and muzzle free speech. If you are unable to attend, you can participate by encouraging your church to host this important simulcast. Visit the Liberty Sunday website for more details on this and other ways to be involved.

Pastors can order tickets for your church delegation by calling 1-800-225-4008. Please order as many as you feel sure that can use because we want Tremont Temple to be filled with lively and devout people of faith.
