• David Manuel: Meeting with Lou Engle - What has happened to Harvard?
Boston MA (March 1, 2006) David Manuel writes: Last week I was with Lou Engle. If you don't know who he is, five years ago he and Che Ahn led 400,000 young people to the Mall in Washington for a prayer rally known as "The Call." And if you're seen on the news, young people with red duct tape over their mouths, silently protesting abortion on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, they were from Lou's 24/7 prayer HQ in DC called JHOP, the Justice House of Prayer.

He has just opened BHOP, the Boston House of Prayer, and has called for a forty-day fast, starting today, for God to pour out His Spirit on Boston. In 1973, at Tremont Temple, Derek Prince prophesied that when the walls at of America's intellectual Jericho came down, Revival would explode across the land. Is Boston our Jericho? It would seem so; the Boston Metro area contains 53 well-known campuses that annually give out 18% of all the degrees awarded in America.

Lou told me that he has just put out a challenge to his young prayer warriors across the country: Ask God if he would have you set aside your plans for Spring Break, and come, instead, to Boston, to pray for God's Spirit to fall on Harvard. When he told me that, I got a picture of the cover of Newsweek with kids with their arms up, praising God. The headline read: WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HARVARD?

We'll see. It's shaping up to be a pretty exciting Lent.

Speaking of which, I was awakened at 12:30 this morning with this:

Go ye, therefore, into all the world and proclaim the word of the Lord: I am bringing salvation and repentance and reconciliation and surrender to all parts of the land and all inhabitants thereof. They will have this opportunity to receive my forgiveness and begin again. I will wipe each slate clean with the fresh-spilt Blood of the Lamb and will set each captive free, and will place each beginner on the path of their destiny.

For this is the long-awaited Day of the Lord.

Come, each one, into my presence. Bask, each one, in the light of my glory. Raise, each one, your arms to heaven and receive, each one, the gift of my love. For you cannot ascend to its height, neither can you descend to the depths of the love I have for you.

Come, bask, praise, and receive, for this is the Day of the Lord.

Join us today, if you can, or next Wednesday Noon, and be sure to put on your calendar Friday evening, April 21, from 7:30 till 9:00, at Tremont Temple. That's the first Friday after Easter, and the Noon Hour's first evening meerting. We want every candle burning for Revival to be there. Our combined candlepower is part of God's plan for what He is unfolding in Boston.
